Campari + Soda

As the days get longer and warmer I find myself beginning to crave light summer-y cocktails, as opposed to my usual “winter drinks”.
My favorite at the moment is a Campari & Soda.
This drink reminds me of when I was 13 years old on a trip to Italy with my mum and her best friend. Each afternoon they would sit down and have a Campari in a little cafe or bar. I always loved hearing the word “Campari” because it meant that it was time for me to either get an Orange Fanta or a gelato. I think in psychology they would call this a “conditioned response”:
Campari = Gelato
Now however I’ll just take the drink… Ok, who am I kidding? And the gelato!

Bowtie

Growing up one of my favorite meals my mum would make for me was bowtie pasta with sauteed zucchini, scrambled eggs, and soy sauce. Kind of random, but trust me- it was amazing. I haven’t had this dish in years, but when I came across these Dolce & Gabbana earrings in a recent fashion magazine, they took me straight back to my childhood kitchen and the smell of my mum’s cooking. Nostalgia at it’s best.
