Colds Suck

Apologies for my lack of posts this week. It’s been super busy with work, family in town, and battling a terrible cold the past few days. That being said, I’m planning on catching up and getting lots of work done on the blog over the July 4th holiday- so stayed tuned!

In the meantime, here’s some pictures from the past couple weeks…

Banksy For Free

To celebrate “sixty years of just waving and smiling and doing essentially naff all”, the art website Pictures on Walls commissioned five artists to create a piece in honor of the Queen’s special Diamond Jubilee this past weekend.

One of the artists happens to be none other than Banksy, who’s piece was (and still is) available for free download so that you could print it on whatever you like and “wave in an ‘ironic’ way as the Queen drives past”.

**I just googled this whole shenanigan and apparently the Jubliee weekend extends until Tuesday (homegirl is milking it)- that being said, it’s not too late to print out your Banksy and join in on the festivities!

Made In L.A.

THIS is opening over weekend and if you’re in LA. you should check it out!

Organized by the Hammer Museum, Made In L.A. will be the first Los Angeles Biennial. What does that mean? Works from 60 new and emerging L.A. artists, 3 locations, and a $100,000 prize!

Fun. Times.

(Also- if you go, you should check out the Made In L.A. SoundMap App)

Hermes + Leica

I posted about this dreamy camera back in the fall, and now just stumbled upon a beautiful video of one being made. Well this one is a bit different. It’s the newest edition in the collaboration between Hermes and Leica: The MP-9

These two brands first teamed together in 2003 to create the MP “Edition Hermes” and then again in 2009 for the MP-7. This summer they will release the MP-9, which will be available in two different sets starting in June. The first set will be an edition of 300, come with one lens, and have a price tag of about $25000. The 2nd set (to be released shortly after in July), will come with three lenses, cost about $50000, and be made in a very limited edition of 100.
